Like many of the Windows version of malware these Trojans make themselves look like some sort of security suite, attempting to frighten you into giving up your credit card information. To make maters worse Apple seems ill prepared to deal with these issues. Apple had issued a security definition that dealt with the Mac Defender virus but Mac Defender updated there spyware in less than 8 hours defeating the anti-virus definitions. OS X users should expect plenty of updates from now on. They also now need to be aware of there behavior and understand that they no longer can surf the web with impunity.
